University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

UK heatwave 3.0:

  • Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) is quoted by The Guardian, Daily Mail, and The Independent, on a study predicting rise in heat deaths by the 2070s. Also in LBC News Radio, The Irish News, inkl, Yahoo! News UK, MSN UK, Ireland Live, Heart, Sky News, Coast FM, Smooth Radio, and others.
  • Professor Richard Allan (Meteorology) discussed the serious health impacts of a heatwave, in the Independent (via Press Association) and others.
  • A study by scientists at the University is mentioned by ITV Evening News linking climate change with heatwave peaks. Professor Ed Hawkins (Meteorology) is quoted by BBC Weather, Birmingham Mail, Leeds Live,Edinburgh Live and Yorkshire Live.
  • Dr Jess Neumann (Geography and Environmental Science) discusses hosepipe bans on BBC Radio 4 Today, programme, and Times Radio, with clips on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC 6 Music, and local BBC radio stations.
