University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Tongue Twisters: Times Radio spoke to Professor Jane Setter (English Language and Applied Linguistics) on a new research study which tested people's inebriation through tongue twisters. 

 

Age of Extinction: Professor Simon Potts (Agriculture) is quoted on pollination deficits and fruit production for The Age of Extinction series in The Guardian. Republished by Yahoo! News and MSN.  

 

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment  

  • Professor Hannah Cloke (Geography/Meteorology) is quoted by CNN in an article about a new study from Copernicus suggesting 2023 could be the warmest year on record. Republished by KION 546, KRDO, News Channel 3, ABC 17, Yahoo! News and WHDH. Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) is quoted on the same topic in The News. Read our expert comment.  
  • New Scientist (in print) quotes Professor Keith Shine (Meteorology) on the impact of hydrogen leaking from pipes with the benefit of using hydrogen as a fossil fuel alternative.
  • BBC Berkshire and BBC Oxford spoke to Dr Becks Spake (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology), who was part of a team that produced a list of 15 overlooked issues likely to impact UK forests in the next 50 years. Read our news story.

  • NPR quotes Dr Alejandra Perotti (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) on a study presenting evidence that head lice have recorded historic mass human migrations in their DNA.
