University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

UK's Climate policy analysed:Professor Chris Hilson (Law) is quoted by Evening Standard, Independent, Mail Online, i News, Sky News (online), Aol., Yahoo!, The Reading Chronicle, Glasgow Evening Times, The National, Belfast Telegraph, The Northern Echo, Watford Observer, Bucks Free Press, The Press, News & Star, South Wales Argus, The Westmorland Gazette, and over one-hundred other outlets, recommending that the UK's climate adaption policy should be joined up with policies on mitigation. This comes as the UK government is scrutinised in the Climate Change Committee's report to Parliament. Read our news story.

 

Solar activity: Professor Mathew Owens (Meteorology) is quoted by CNN (Indonesia), Unilad, UK Daily News, Future Zone, End Time Headlines, Giant Freakin Robot, Daily Observer, Sindo News, The Science Times, and News Beezer on why we are entering a period of increased solar activity, and by explaining a video released by NASA of a 'churning tornado' on the sun's surface.

 

Food and farming:

  • A repeat episode of Channel 4's Food Unwrapped aired, in which PhD student, Ana Contente was interviewed on why some herbs gain flavour when dried, whilst others lose it.
  • Professor Gunter Kuhnle and Professor Keshavan Niranjan's (both Food) Conversation piece on why tinned and frozen food can be just as nutritious as fresh produce is reposted by RTE.
  • Naver mentions University research that suggests antioxidants in blueberries can have a positive effect on overall mood. 
  • Dairy Farmer (in print) mentions a University study on how long milking heifers remained in their herds.

 

Business and society:

  • Professor Adrian Palmer (Henley Business School) is quoted by Express, FN Talk, and MSN on the possibility of continued price rises despite a recent fall in inflation. 
  • Dr Filipe Morais (Henley Business School) is quoted by Head Topics, Jornalde Negocios, and Ardina on changes to corporate governance in Portugal.

  • Professor David Brayshaw (Meteorology) was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire on taking part in Cure Leukaemia's Tour 21 fundraiser, which will see amateur cyclists attempt the Tour De France route to raise money for the cause. Read our news story.
