University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Bumpier flights (continued): Professor Paul Williams (Meteorology) and PhD student Mark Prosser (Meteorology) are quoted by The National Observer (Canada), IOL, Times of India, Inkl, Colchester Gazette (in print) and The Argus (in print) on their findings that clear-air turbulence has increased over the past 40 years. Professor Williams (Meteorology) was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire and quoted by Ekologica and Buff Frag. Mark Prosser is also quoted by Y Net News on the research. Clips from Professor Williams' interview with GB News aired on BBC ‘Have I Got News For You’ (at 22:30), and his expert commentary aired on various stations in the US. Read our news story.

  • Professor Richard Allan (Meteorology) is quoted by the Financial Times (and in print) on the potential impact of El Niño.
  • Professor Tom Oliver (Biological Sciences) provided expert commentary as a panellist at an event on tackling the climate and biodiversity crisis, hosted by the Royal Geographical Society, RGS reports.

  • Dr Jon Robson (Meteorology) is quoted by The Argus and Yahoo! on how El Niño conditions may cause extreme weather conditions next year.

  • Professor Glenn Gibson (Food and Nutritional Sciences) is quoted by the Mail+ on the "unclear" benefits of consuming postbiotics for gut health.
  • Technology Times reports research by the University, led by Professor Vimal Karani (Food),to tackle the "obesity crisis" in Malaysia has received an education award.

  • The University is thanked in an article by RDG Today for sponsoring the East Reading Festival.
  • R&A reports a Youth in Mind Berkshire conference will take place at the University on 27 Jun.
